The 2021 Gurkha retains its boxy silhouette but looks a tad more upmarket than its predecessor. The body panels and edges look more even now and there are new modern elements which we generally see on current models nowadays. Even the cabin has been thoroughly upgraded with better materials and it gets most of the features you expect in a lifestyle off-roader. Force is also offering a wide range of customization options for the new Gurkha and it can been booked for a token amount of Rs. 25,000. Here’s everything you need to know.
The 2021 Force Gurkha is spawned by the modular architecture platform and continues being a purpose-built off-road SUV more than a lifestyle off-roader. Expert Review on Force Motors Gurkha
Pros
- Off-Road Capability
- Premium Than Before
- Choice In Personalisation
Cons
- Poor Aftersales Network
- Limited Sales
- Limited Variants
The all-new Force Gurkha has significantly evolved, enhancing both its utility and appeal. It now boasts a range of safety features and creature comforts, striking a balance between modern amenities and its renowned off-road prowess. This evolution in practicality widens its appeal, making it an attractive option for a broader audience.
How is the design?
The New Force Gurkha has a proper commanding driving position, proper tilt, and telescopic steering adjustment for an excellent comfortable seating position. The four seater version of the 2021 force Gurkha will have a captain's seat at the rear. It will have dedicated arm sets for the rear passengers. A wide windscreen ensures proper driver visibility with large windows for the passengers. The air intake snorkel gives a functional water wading ability, mainly up to 77 mm, which is unmatched by any vehicle in this category.
The New Gurkha is around 4116mm long, 2075 mm tall, and has a 2400mm wheelbase.
The engine of Gurkha is relatively new and is mainly a relative term. The outgoing Gurkha had almost around 2.2 liters OM 611 (Mercedes Benz) engine. The new Gurkha has an approximately 2.6 liters OM 616 engine, which is highly efficient in performance. Force Gurkha has around 50BHP and 71 NM over the old one. Its performance is slower on the highways, 88.7 bhp, and almost approximately 2.2 tonne curb weight, and it has a lot of limitations. There is a petrol engine even on the horizon. It also works smoothly on a 120kmph cruise, and it is the Car's top speed.
The Force Gurkha 2017-2020 is 17.0kmpl. The Manual Design variant has a mileage of 17.0 kmpl. The fuel efficiency of the Force Motors Gurkha Diesel Variant is limited to 17.00kmpl. It consumes less fuel and is highly energy efficient. Extracting the best fuel economy mainly involves different techniques like modulation of throttle and determining the excessive gear shifts in idling in traffic.
Driving the Gurkha was excellent. When one must stay to the side through the turns, there is almost little body roll and no understeer. The steering is accurate and reliable, and the telling driving posture enhances cornering filtration. Even though the final Power Gurkha appeared capable of challenging terrain, it was ultimately a vehicle that was too critical and of little interest outside the region's rough terrain. The journey with Gurkha is relatively smooth and provides less hassles, specifically driving Gurkha.
The new Gurkha was created to maintain its proficiency in the wild while providing more notable general use, more well-known luxuries, and further refined refinement – urgent changes that should open it up to a more extensive customer base. Although new is used here as a broad term, the motor is new. Compared to the active Gurkha, which used the 2.2-liter OM 611 (Mercedes-Benz) engine first seen on the Power One SUV, this is new. The 2.6-liter OM616 engine that powers the new Gurkha is a holdover from the 1980s when it made headlines for being the first Mercedes engine for a passenger car produced in India with complete innovation.
The off road capability of Force Gurkha is to touch the four wheel drive lever gear to detect the lockable differentials. It is highly robust and goes along with everything with optimum ground clearance, small size, and proper visibility. It has a highly unmatched all-terrain capability. The All New Force Gurkha is correctly located with 4*4 Low and High levers in the central console, which makes it in providing optimum off road capability. It is the one, and only vehicle in its class with proper mechanically actuated differential mechanized locks on both of the axles of the Car.
The interior of the Force Gurkha has spacious interiors with flour of the captain seats and proper armrests for second row passengers. It makes the four wheel drive Car one of the most premium vehicles in its entire league. The interior of the car model is mainly made from premium quality Nappa Leather with golden tan stitching and tan brown color. The steering wheel was mainly made from hard plastic with a glossy coating. It has been adequately covered with black leather and golden tan. The door panels are wrapped in deep tan leather materials along with wooden door handles. The interior of Gurkha is a basic all black interior. The design is simple, and the cabin is properly designed. The quality and material design has not been adequately improved and is almost like that of the predecessors. The main features consist of AC and Power Steering only. A proper central locking, power windows, and music system are also standard.
The Gurkha comes with a boxy exterior with circular LED headlamps and a properly redesigned bonnet with "Shark Grille" on the snorkel. The Gurkha mainly comes with a black dashboard with a proper 7 inch touchscreen infotainment. The new model Force Gurkha has pre pre-installed infotainment screen with Android Auto connectivity. Bluetooth connection is installed in the system with feature locking differentials for hassle free communication. Advanced GPS is installed in the system to get live location updates from satellites. It is the only vehicle in its class that mainly features proper LED force edge headlamps. The advanced technology helps the vehicle to provide live location updates to the driver.
The new Force Gurkha comes with top end safety equipment like 2 Airbags (Front Passenger, Drivers), Seat Belt Warning, Child Lock, Speed Sensing Door Lock, Central Locking, and Anti Theft Engine immobilizer. The Force Gurkha has highly enhanced the overall material quality that is used according to the safety features like parking sensors, dual airbags, and rears. Being an off roader, the main safety features that are available are advanced differential locks on both rear and front axles. It is highly essential for negotiating with slippery road conditions. The departure and approach angles have properly improved with additional safety features.
The brand new 2021 Force Gurkha Variant is highly powered by a proper 2.6 liter, four cylinder diesel engine that generates 91bhp and 250 Nm of torque. It is the latest variant of the vehicle and is highly energy efficient. The new gear box makes it quite better than that of the preceding variants.
Which Car Compete in the segment
Mahindra Thar car can compete easily with the new Gurkha in each and every category as it has a more accurate approach angle. The approach angle of Thar is approximately around 4.8 degrees, breakover angle by almost around 2 degrees. It has a better ground clearance and is approximately around 21mm. Mahindra Thar offers a lot more packages with its powerful engine options that are attractive and feature-loaded interior. Mahindra Thar has almost similar mileage to that of the new Gurkha car. Therefore Mahindra Thar gives a tough competition to the new Gurkha.

I own the 2017 model Gurkha, and I tell you going by practical experience that its an awesome offroader that can take on any terrain and will out class any thing else on our Indian roads. This handsome hunk will take you any where provided you have the nerve to embark on the trail. Will get you out of practically every sticky situation is what I’ve gotten confidence about after all these years of ownership. And its got all the required gear in it to help you do it. You have the feeling of sitting in a battle tank once your at the steering wheel which in itself gives you the push to traverse any inhospitable terrain. I mean you feel like a soldier when you are in it. The classic design has many a person awestruck. The interiors, though basic are up to my liking. The power is good enough for off road trails. On the highway, yes its got a decent pick up and befitting a vehicle of this size. The new Gurkha.......with a beautiful exterior and interior befitting a genuine off roader. The fit and finish is good. Off road capability: 10/10, Exterior fit and finish: 10/10, Interior fit and finish: 8/10. I mean you don’t need more than these interiors to take it to a jungle / adventure. You would’nt like to be sitting in a comfy environment in the wild. You’ve gone there to enjoy nature. A classic off roader which has improved a great deal over its predecessor in all departments. Kudos to the staff in Khivraj motors who went all the way to provide good service every time I visited the service centre. Needless to say that Khivraj motors needs to vastly improve its service centre to provide support to its skilful and courteous service personell. The Gurkha is and will always be my favourite off roader. Well there are various misconceptions about the Beast. I would not say that force Gurkha is an everyday car but as I said it's a beast made for adventure. It's hard built quality and capabilities make it an amazing vehicle first of all you can not expect comfort of an sedan or SUV from a vehicle like this but still provides a decent amount of luxury for those slushy roads along those curves and I would also say that you can expect a decent millage because engine of this car is pretty huge as its an 2.6 turbo charged engine. There is only one variant available of this car so you need to worry which model to select but a variety of colors can make it difficult but I'll say Millitary green will look the best. Hope you will find this review useful..... (Thar is in danger)

New Force Gurkha 2021 is definitely the best off-roader, be it mud, snow or a rainy day - with it’s capable 4x4 makes the Gurkha ride comfortable in every terrain. Though the wheels are 16inch it has better articulation; suspension is bit rigid which makes it get out of even heavy slush easily on 4x4. I have been driving on hilly terrain last 6 months without any major issues yet. Minor issues were resolved at the nearest Force dealer. The road presence of Gurkha is invincible.
