What's New?
Mercedes-Benz launched the 2021 E-Class in India and prices start at Rs. 63.6 lakh. The new E-Class debuts with comprehensive changes on exterior styling and design, significant interior updates along with the integration of latest new-generation NTG 6 telematics and of course the MBUX system, which makes it a connected car. Prices of the E-Class top out at Rs. 80.9 lakh (ex-showroom India) The E-Class boasts of the most spacious rear cabin in the segment owing to its long wheelbase of 3079 mm. At 5075mm it's long too and Mercedes-Benz has stuck to bringing the long wheelbase version to the country because it has received a lot of praise and of course, in the E-Class, it is all about being chauffeur driven.
The 2021 E-Class does not get the typical twin headlight and LED DRL treatment. In fact, the single LED DRL now looks great and the bulges on the bonnet give it an aggressive look. The new LED headlamps too add to the sleek look. The rear has been newly designed and the new split tail light design gives it a fresh appeal. The quarter glass at the rear is inspired by the Mercedes-Maybach.
The inside comes with plush Artico leather dashboard and open pore wood trims at the front and rear. But it's the rear seat that gets your attention as they recline to up to 37 degrees. You also get convenience features like a Burmester surround Sound system, panoramic sunroof, wireless charger among others. The cabin experience has been enhanced with the integration of new Mercedes-Benz User Experience infotainment system. MBUX enriches user experience by incorporating a powerful computer, brilliant screens and graphics, a customizable display, learning-capable software, and "Hey Mercedes" voice assistance with natural language recognition. You get the digital cockpit with dual 12.3-inch display screens and that's something we've seen on other cars from the company already.
But let's get to the heart of the matter. The engines. Mercedes-Benz will offer the E-Class in 3 engine options - a 2-litre petrol, a 2-litre diesel and a 3-litre diesel in an AMG line. While the 2-litre petrol churns out 194 bhp, the 2-litre diesel pushes out 192 bhp. The more powerful 3-litre diesel is good enough for 282 bhp.
The paint colours available for the E-Class are Polar White, Obsidian Black, High-Tech Silver and Mojave Silver. Additionally, two more colours would be available for a limited time - Selenite Grey and Designo Hyacinth Red.
Expert Review on Mercedes-Benz E-Class

One of the most well-known and highly regarded names in the world of luxury automobile manufacturing is Mercedes-Benz. And with good reason: their automobiles are among the finest that can be found on the market. But what exactly does that have to do with technological advancements? In fact, quite a lot. The Mercedes Benz E-Class is a glittering example of what we’re essentially trying to say, i.e. it does take the Mickey out of the competition with sheer finesse alone. And we’re loving it!
The outside of the vehicle has been given a contemporary and streamlined appearance by its designers. A sizable air intake can be seen on the front fascia, and it connects directly to the unique grille. On the front of the hood, there is also an illuminated M-B logo. The car was designed to have a side profile that was both attractive and aerodynamically sound. The sides do not have any apparent bumpers or spoilers, which contributes to the exceptionally high level of aerodynamics that the car possesses.
The new E-Class has a more forward-thinking appearance thanks to its lengthened hood with power domes, redesigned headlamps, and updated rim designs. There is of course, the imposing rear end featuring a rear lamp that is split into two halves and restyled wheels as an option. The E class already has the appealing look of an avant-garde exterior. The dynamic quality and refined style of the car are both brought out by its designers. The high-performance LED headlights not only provide a recognizable and intimidating appearance, but also an increased level of safety when driving at night. These headlights utilize LED technology, which allows them to illuminate the road more effectively than traditional headlights while simultaneously consuming less energy. LED technology's adaptive rear lights modify the amount of light they emit in response to the environment around them. The panoramic sliding sunroof, in either it’s open or closed configuration, bestows a fantastic experience as well as a sense of unrestricted freedom.
The 2.0-liter petrol-powered E 200 may have 197 horsepower and a quiet cabin, and it may also feel light on its feet, but it isn't as exhilarating as some of its competitors. The 2.0-liter, 194-horsepower engine in the E 220d is refined and builds power in a linear fashion, but the 286-horsepower, 3.0-liter straight-six engine in the E 350d is silky smooth and has significant power reserves. It is impossible to hide the fact that the long-wheelbase E-class is a large car despite the ease with which it changes direction. The power output of the 1991 cc gasoline engine has 194.44 horsepower at 5500-6100 rpm, and the torque output is 320 Nm at 1650-4000 rpm. The Mercedes E Class can reach its highest speed of 235 kilometers per hour and can accelerate from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour in just 7.9 seconds. In addition, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class with a gasoline engine can reach a top speed of up to 250 kilometers per hour, while the Mercedes-Benz E-Class with a diesel engine can reach a top speed of up to 233 kilometers per hour. The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is, all things considered, a terrific option for those searching for a high-performance sedan that also provides a great deal of emphasis on luxury.
Whether you choose the gasoline or diesel engine, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has the same fuel economy, at 16.1 kilometers per litre. This is the combined ARAI mileage estimate for all E-Class models.
One of the primary selling points of Mercedes-Benz automobiles has traditionally been the driving experience. The manufacturer has a long tradition of providing drivers with experiences that are among the best in the world through the automobiles they produce. The E-Class is no exception.
The E-Class may be a large car, but despite its size, it offers a comfortable ride and great handling thanks to its outstanding all-wheel-drive system and well-balanced chassis. When you put your foot down on the accelerator, you will notice that it is both quick and responsive because it is equipped with a powerful engine. When you need it, you can feel the power, but the engine also provides smooth cruising at lesser speeds. Because of all of these factors, the E-Class is a wonderful option for anyone who is looking for a driving experience that is incredibly tuned, offering plenty of power when you need it and lots of comfort when you are in a cruising-esque mood of sorts. Great handler and has great dynamics. Period.
There is a solid reason why the Mercedes-Benz E-Class is one of the most popular luxury cars now available on the market. This automobile has a very nice and comfy cabin that is also very attractive. The seats are exceedingly luxurious and comfortable, and the overall interior design is of the highest caliber. The interior is spacious, and the layout is well thought out and simple to navigate. The controls are positioned in an accessible manner, and everything can be seen clearly.
Additionally, the Mercedes-Benz E-class is a huge automobile, but in addition to its size, it exudes an air of dignity and refinement. The inside is exquisitely designed, and the cabin is a masterful example of how modern technology can be harmoniously combined with traditional elements to create a sense of comfort. The comfort offered in the front seats of the Mercedes-Benz E-class is satisfactory; nevertheless, the experience offered in the back seats is the vehicle's crowning achievement. In the rear, there is a ton of space for your legs, and the seats that electrically recline are really outstanding.
The most recent model of the E-Class e produced by Mercedes-Benz is loaded with cutting-edge technology and infotainment features that will simplify your life. The E-Class comes standard with a 7-inch touchscreen display that may be operated by the car's multimedia system or the AMG Driver Assistance package, depending on which you choose to install. This package includes features such as an interactive gauge display, which provides real time information on the speed of the vehicle, the performance of the engine, and the amount of fuel in the tank. Additionally, the E-Class provides advanced connectivity options like as a Wi-Fi hotspot and access to Mercedes Me services for its customers. Using the car's easy controls, you can also control the music that is being played and the GPS system. The E-Class comes standard with a hard drive that has a capacity of 40 gigabytes, but if you require even more room, you have the option of purchasing an additional hard disk with a capacity of 130 gigabytes. The E-Class caters to motorists who wish to maintain their online presence even when on the go by providing a number of high-tech luxuries, such as compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You can easily link your iPhone or Android device to the car's audio system and use it as your primary navigational aid if the vehicle comes equipped with these options.
The E-Class vehicle produced by Mercedes-Benz exemplifies the company's status as a pioneering brand in the competitive field of automobile manufacturing. Because of its many safety measures, the E-Class is consistently ranked as one of the safest automobiles available for purchase today. These characteristics are as follows:
To begin, the E-Class is equipped with a multitude of safety measures, the majority of which are standard equipment on all Mercedes-Benz models. These include: six airbags (including front and side-impact), four-wheel disc brakes, anti-lock braking system (ABS), emergency brake aid, and traction control. Additionally, the E-Class comes equipped with a number of innovative safety features that can safeguard you in the event that something goes wrong. These systems include night vision with pedestrian recognition, monitoring for blind spots with an alarm for crossing traffic, forward collision warning with active brake support, monitoring for lane departure with an intervention function, and assistance in locating stolen vehicles.
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class can be purchased in one of five different iterations: the AMG E 350d, the Expression E 220d, the Expression E 200, and the Exclusive E 200 and Exclusive E 220d. The Mercedes-Benz E-Class Expression E 200 is the model with the lowest price tag, coming in at Rs. 67.00 Lakh, while the Mercedes-Benz E-Class AMG E 350d is the model with the highest price tag, coming in at Rs. 85.00 Lakh. Both of these models are available in India. The most well-known models are the E 350 d, the E 220 D Expression, and the E 200 Exclusive.
Base Model: E-Class Expression E 200 (1991 cc, Automatic, Petrol, 16.1 kmpl) - Rs.67.00 Lakh.
Top Petrol: E-Class Exclusive E 200(1991 cc, Automatic, Petrol, 15.0 kmpl) - Rs.70.70 Lakh.
Top Diesel: E-Class AMG E 350d (2925 cc, Automatic, Diesel) - Rs.85.00 Lakh
The Automatic E-Class Top Model AMG E 350d costs 85,000 Lakh.
One of the most well-known and widely purchased luxury vehicles on the market today is the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. It mainly faces competition from the BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, Jaguar XF and the Volvo S90. The E-Class may have the most direct competition in the form of the 5 Series. The newly updated version of the BMW 5 Series was presented to the public for the first time in June 2021 by BMW India. The BMW 5 Series is offered with not one, but two diesel and two gasoline engines measuring 2.0 liters each, in addition to a larger diesel engine measuring 3.0 liters. Each of the three engines is mated to an automatic transmission with eight gears. The price of the automobile ranges from 62.90 lakh to 71.90 lakh Indian Rupees (ex-showroom, India). Yet, the E-Class still holds its own on several counts.
When it comes to luxury cars, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class is hard to beat. With great fuel efficiency and plenty of features, this car is a great value for money. The car has a powerful engine, and its overall design is really good. The E-Class features all the amenities you would expect in a much more expensive car. The cabin is spacious and well designed, with an even distribution of weight across all surfaces. Visibility out the front and sides are excellent, and there are plenty of storage options both inside and outside the car. There are many features that make the E-Class stand out from other luxury cars. All in all, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class is a great choice for those looking for quality, performance and luxury at a decent-ish price tag. That is for those who are serious luxury car buyers and are seeking a mid-range option in the market. The E-Class makes tremendous sense for them

There is no doubt the current year e-class rules this year. Be it the jag, new 5 series or audi a6 which are all excellent in their own right. 64 ambient lights to choose from, excellent suspension, brilliant 3-zone air conditioning system so everyone in the car can have their own temp and blower settings, mind blowingly simple and intuitive comand system for radio, media and navigation. Obviously ride quality is ultimate second only to a rolls royce in short if you buying a car in the range of 60-80 lakhs you should choose the e class its a no brainer!

Completely agree with Randeep Grewal. Go for a Lexus instead. Benz is all show and no go. Despite, Lexus, Acura and Infinity, Benz has not learned a lesson. Crap build quality and a hopeless car. The AC in a brand new E300 CDI was not working. No cooling in the rear. Electricals are a nightmare. Mercedes is ready to relieve you of your cash at the slightest excuse. Unfortunately MB is the largest luxury car seller in India so their sales and service network is the best. They are in a monopolistoc market. Lexus India has a poor sales and service network. The Benz is not a daily use car. Constant repairs that cost a fortune. VASTLY OVERRATED CAR. But the taxi, limo, embassy, UN and fleet market loves. So do millionaires and billionaires who have a fleet of luxury cars they can fall back on when their Mercedes goes bust each week. Service is EXPENSIVE. $1000 for a E class.

Air conditioner effectiveness is 0: The Cooling continues to be poor, despite sending it for repairs many times to Joshi Autozone Ludhiana (the car dealer). My employee's Maruti Alto's air conditioning is much much more effective. Air conditioner smell: There is an awful odour that comes when the A/C is turned on. This smell continues despite sending it to the dealer many times ; Joshi Autozone maintains the AC filter needs to be changed to prevent the smell. What I don’t understand is that if AC filter costing Rs.8000/- needs to be changed after the car has run only 20000 odd KM then it does not go well for a brand like Mercedes Benz. Gear Change problem: When changing gears from P to D1 or P to reverse it does not function properly and we need to press a couple of times to make the operation. Rain sensor problem-During the rainy season, I observed that the sensor indicating heavy water under the car also does not give an indication. Hence I recommend not to use this car during rainy season since the hydro static locks will not work and the engine of the car will cease. The tyre-size is not appropriate for Indian road conditions. The Mercedes-Benz India needs to look into modifying the size! The tyres are not able to cope with the small pits on the road. Despite advising Joshi Autozone regarding this, but nothing has been done. I am very disappointed with this car! Though Mercedes-Benz is a "luxury" car brand but sorry to say this car has taken my luxury away!!
